Coniston Chestnut Russian Grain

Coniston, a higher leg derby boot with a straight toe cap. Produced in Russian Grain leather featuring Vibram cleated rubber soles and a storm welt for added water resistance. Russian Grain is a unique English leather tanned to the original recipe of the historical 'Russian Calf'. Made from young English Ox hides, it is produced by J&JF Bakers, an old English tannery that specialises in traditional vegetable tanning. Bakers is believed to have been situated on its current site since Roman times, and although the tannery's name has changed, the oak-bark tanning process remains almost unchanged.
